Abilities/Spells
Ability cards are one of the major card types
.: Other card types are Heroes, Creeps, Improvements, and Items

Ability cards have an immediate effect that resolves
.: Where cards go when they're removed is unclear. Could be shuffled back into the deck or put into a graveyard

Abilities are termed interchangeably with "spells" sometimes
.: Some cards refer to Ability cards as "Spells", like Zeus and Crystal Maiden
.: It's not yet clear if all Ability Cards are considered "Spells" or not

Ability cards are not to be confused with ability effects (read further below for details on Ability Effects)
.: Ability Effects appear occasionally on creeps, improvements, items, and heroes

Playing an ability requires a hero of the same color in the active lane
.: A red ability will require a red hero, for example
.: If you have a red hero in a different lane, then you won't be able to play the ability. It has to be in the same row
.: Some abilities let you target other rows, but these rules will still apply

Abilities have a mana cost
.: Each lane starts with 3 maximum mana that increments by 1 and refreshes at the start of the next round
.: Some cards and effects return mana as well

Abilities are drawn from the Item Deck at the start of each round, during the drawing phase
.: Unlike Item cards, you don't need to spend anything to draw them; instead you spend mana to play the card

Some Abilities are considered "Sigium" Abilities
.: 3 Copies of Sigium abilities are included in each deck once the corresponding hero is added to the deck
.: Sigium abilities are noted by the icon of the hero at the bottom right of the Ability's image
.: Each hero only has 1 Sigium Ability

Ability Effects
Some creeps, items, heroes, and improvements have ability effects
.: These ability effects can be Continuous Effects, Reactive Abilities, or Active Abilities

Continuous Effects:
.: The ability is in effect passively and doesn't require a condition to be active

Reactive Abilities
.: The effect will occur when the condition is met, and doesn't require the player's decision

Active Abilities
.: The effect can be activated manually during the Action Phase
.: Usually has a cooldown, but no cost to activate
