Items
Items are one of the main card types
.: Other card types are Heroes, Creeps, Abilities, and Improvements

Items are the only cards that require gold
.: You get 5 gold per hero killed and 1 gold per creep killed

There are 2 categoies of Item cards
.: Equipment: Weapons, Armor, and Trinkets are played by equipping onto heroes
.: Consumables: Played similarly to ability cards

Consumables are the only items that are not equipped to a hero
.: Consumables are represented by a "potion" icon
.: They're played once and then they're gone, similar to Ability cards
.: Consumables have their own dedicated slot in the Item Shop

Weapons, Armor, and Trinkets are equipped onto heroes
.: Equipment have inherent effects, which increase various attributes like Health depending on their type
-- Weapons represented by a double sword icon typically modify power
-- Armor represented by a shield icon typically modifies armor
-- Trinkets represented by a heart icon typically modify health
.: Equipments sometimes have Ability Effects as well

Item cards are not drawn normally. They're drawn by spending gold in the Item Shop
.: The Item Shop opens up in between each round during the Shopping Phase
.: Gold is spent to draw the cards, which you can play for free during your Action Phase

There are 3 types of shops within the Item Shop, each with their own slot
.: What all the shops have in common
-- Once you buy a card, you can buy the next card in the slot, effectively cycling through the selection
-- You can buy as many items from as many different slots each turn as you want, only limited by your Gold

.: 1st Slot: Secret Shop
-- Cards are not from a deck built by the player
-- Card order is random
-- Cards can be equipment, and possibly consumable as well

.: 2nd Slot: Item Deck
-- These cards are chosen and built by the player before the game starts
-- Whether card order is random or pre-configured is not confirmed yet
-- These cards can only be equipment

.: 3rd Slot: Consumable Shop
-- These cards are not from a deck built by the player
-- Very limited pool of cards, so there is some reliability compared to Secret Shop
-- Card order is random
-- These cards can only be Consumable
